Crawling!!! and other Summer in Chicago Fun

There are lots of fun things to do in the summer in Chicago. We took our last househunting trip in early June and FINALLY found a house (Rosemary stayed with her grandparents -- the first time we've left her for a weekend. She had a blast -- she went to an ice cream social with a bouncy house at the church and even sat through a service!). After that was over, it was putting together the paperwork and starting to think about moving, but mostly having fun with our family and friends in Chicago. Below we rented bikes from Millennium Park and towed the kids along the lakeshore bike path, where James and I used to ride our bikes almost every day of the summer when we lived in Chicago.

The Park Ridge community pool has an awesome wading pool with a water slide. Rosemary is a little fish -- uncharacteristically brave about swimming (though she still hates baths and showers). We spent a couple fun days going to the pool when we stayed in Park Ridge during a three day long power outage on the south side! Chicago has crazy summer storms.

Rosemary and Louis really play together now -- he absolutely adores her, and she's pretty patient and gentle with him most of the time.

Well, a very big moment has arrived: Louis is crawling!

We wanted to recreate the first video of Rosemary crawling (see July 2008 in the blog)

All this crawling has made Louis STARVING

He also truly enjoys playing with his sister:

I took this video because Rosemary insisted:
