In her Easter Bonnet...

Rosemary just had a lovely visit with her Nana and Nani Kumar and we went to see all the spring flowers. Her Grandma Spindler made her an Easter dress and bonnet, which makes her all the more adorable (and you thought it wasn't possible).

Well above average

OK, fine not in ALL areas. However, if not in cognitive development, Rosemary is way ahead in brute strength ... yesterday was her four month check-up, where we found that she is 15 pounds, six ounces and the 85th percentile in weight. Her dad is very pleased. Haven't posted too many new pictures because we've been busy adjusting to mom being back at work, but so far, everything is going just swimmingly. We've even got some new hikes in -- lovely Placerita Canyon in the spring (Rosemary is helping her dad tie his shoes) with Xiaolum, a stroll around Lake Balboa to see the cherry blossoms.
Rosemary is taking it a little easier on mom this week in terms of sleep -- thanks, much, to Aunt Sandy who is Mina's personal baby sleep consultant. Sandy encouraged us to feed the baby before doing the nighttime sleep routine, then put her to bed (rather than feed her until she falls asleep), so that she can start to learn to fall asleep on her own. It's starting to work, and Rosemary is waking up just to feed now, not just to be comforted. Rosemary does have a funny bed-time routine -- it includes loads of naked dancing to Willie Nelson (culminating in "Shotgun Willie"). She's started to laugh (see the video -- apologies for the maniacal laughter on my part, but that is the best way to get her to laugh). By the way -- Rosemary's Aunt Katy has a new etsy shop -- for those of you who have admired her many adorable onesies from Katy, now you can order your own!

PS -- I have to confess, this blog has made James and I kind of psycho -- after we put Rosemary to bed we often just sit around looking at pictures of her.

Kickin' Back after a Week of Work

This week was a big one for Rosemary. It was her first:

• Night in her own bedroom
  
• Full night without swaddling
• Day with the nanny, Marie
• Three feedings in a row from the bottle
  
• Full day alone with her dad
• Time in stroller sitting up (not in the infant seat)

On top of all of that, we are trying to "teach" her how to fall asleep after being put in the crib awake (the experts say it can be done). Really not very successfully, I must say. So, after all that work, she decided she needed to kick back and go baby clubbing at Baby Loves Disco in Hollywood (complete with a real DJ and bubble machines). She lasted a FULL half hour before falling fast asleep. Same with her parents.
