Final trip (we hope for a while!)

Last weekend was a wonderful trip where Rosemary got to meet her second cousin Ashley, at last! She also got to catch up with her only great-grandmother at a trip to the zoo, and went on her first swim!

Seattle trip

I bet you're wondering where Rosemary has gone this week! Well, its Seattle, where she attended her first wedding and visited some of her parents' good friends. Above is with FIVE day old Owen, son of Sarah and Chris Peterson (Sarah is Mina's high school friend!). They were doing great, very composed for new parents. Below are some pictures with her new friend Leo, who is a little more than a year older than her, son of our friends Matt & Jennifer, and with grouchy uncle Jeff (who isn't so grouchy any more). It was her first interaction with a big baby who can grab toys faster than her!

All kinds of new

This has been quite a week. Rosemary started solid foods (rice, bananas and carrots) and she has her first teeth coming in (you can feel them when she tries to bite your finger, and just barely see the tips), and she has learned to get from point to point by rolling over and over and over. She is very, very enthusiastic about solid foods -- we were not sure she was ready but obviously she was. She screams between bites, grabs the spoon (so we have to sometimes pin her hands down), tries to plant her face into the bowl, and licks the bib afterwards. We are moving towards waking 1-2 times a night only, at least most nights, so that's a relief.


We were in Chicago for the week, and Rosemary finally got to meet her Aunt Katy and Uncle Knut, her friends Jack and Olivia Dombeck, and even her parents friend Duane (who is about to be a daddy).









She was very impressed by the Sjurseths' little dog Colin, whom she tried to grab.



Rosemary has found her voice the last week or two -- no more demure little girl, we now have a Howler monkey.
