Christmas in Dallas!

We've been having a wonderful time in Dallas, and Rosemary reached her 6 week birthday. She is really starting to look at people and smile and now she even has "conversations" with her Nana (Hindi for grandpa). We were starting to get jealous of how much she smiles at him, until she smiled at James for a long time at the museum the other day. We took her to the zoo, which she slept through, to her first party,where she socialized, and out to dinner twice (slept once and cried the second time). She met her great-grandmother and her Aunts Maureen and Julie.

She started to notice her mobile on her swing and enjoy it.

Dan just sent me two pictures of James as a newborn -- he's very cute! But Mary was a beautiful baby (James says "beauty must skip a generation"), and we think Rosemary looks like her!

One month birthday

On Saturday, Rosemary had her first non-grandparent visitors -- Maria and Larry. Mina was happy to have contact with the outside world! Rosemary's one month birthday was the same as Aunt Julie's 23rd. To celebrate, we took a ride in the sling and walked to Larchmont Village. It was the first time that Mina & Rosemary left the apartment alone, a major step!

So far, most people have voted that Rosemary more closely resembles James. But new evidence has been uncovered! Here are two pictures of me at 2 weeks...do you see the resemblance? Pictures of James at 2 weeks are coming -- I asked Mary to send one to me when she gets a chance.

Three Weeks & Spindlers Visit!

Rosemary has had a few milestones this week: she smiled at Grandma Spindler, she rolled over (several times) from her stomach to her back, she traveled the farthest away from home yet -- all the way to the LAX airport to pick up the Spindlers, wearing her pink dress from Aunt Gale & Uncle Roger -- and she had lunch at a restaurant (and slept the whole time!). She even smiled at her mom for the first time. Some of the smiles even seem to be deliberate; at least we like to think so! Also, her future best friend Sadie (after of course Henry and her cousin Ashley) was born four weeks early!
