Lately Beatrice has been noticing her cousin Louis -- in a given room, she goes straight for him, grabbing his head, kissing him, and then moving on. Beatrice, Summer, and the Louis and I have gone to "Mommy and Me" a few times this month while Rosemary is with her babysitter -- I figured it was about time I "developed" Louis. He's extremely good-natured and mostly just smiles and is content if you give him any attention. Since the class is during his naptime we've also tried a few other activities. Below is a video of Beatrice kissing Louis. In Rosemary news, she has been reacquainted with her old playgroup buddy Abby (this particular playgroup fell apart in the fall when everyone started preschool -- Rosemary was the youngest) since they both started sharing the same babysitter (the wonderful Marie). We now get together with them when Marie is watching Abby and sometimes vice versa. The two girls are really adorable together, they really get along. Its definitely Rosemary's first friendship (and with two other little boys, Shane and Henry -- we spent three hours at Caltech with Henry last Friday feeding turtles and running around). Apparently Abby told her mom tonight before going to bed "Rosemary is a good friend." Awww...
She also has been a good influence. Since Abby goes to the bathroom on the potty Rosemary has a new interest. The two of them sat together in the bathroom -- Abby on her little potty and Rosemary on the big potty -- for about 1/2 an hour the other day, giggling. They both went! And Rosemary went twice at our house yesterday. Rosemary has (sort of, though not as successfully) been influencing Abby to eat fruits and vegetables, which of course Rosemary loves (though both agree that they like ham).
